GLOBOCAM has delivered to the City of Boucherville the very first zero-emission RIZON truck in Quebec. Newly available, this fully electric Class 4-5 medium-duty vehicle is only the second of its kind to be on Canadian roads—British Columbia also received one earlier this year.
“This acquisition marks an important step in the city’s transition toward more sustainable and innovative modes of transportation, in line with its 2022–2031 Sustainable Development Plan,” said the city in its press release.
For GLOBOCAM, this new offering represents a major advancement in its commitment to electric and sustainable transportation. The company is further solidifying its position as a key player in the industry’s shift toward alternative fuels.
What is the RIZON?
RIZON Trucks are specially designed for urban environments, offering an eco-friendly and practical solution for local transportation and urban deliveries. It is currently the only electric medium-duty truck (Class 4-5) available in Quebec and provides a higher payload capacity than the electric vans currently on the market. With a range of up to 250 km on a single charge, these trucks are reliable, tested, and backed by Daimler Truck’s 125 years of expertise in the transportation industry.
The RIZON features:
A compact and efficient design. Its ergonomic cab offers excellent visibility thanks to extensive glazing—an essential feature for urban use.
A wide range of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) as standard equipment, including Active Side Guard Assist (ASA), Active Brake Assist (ABA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), a rearview camera, and pedestrian and cyclist detection, all of which contribute to enhanced safety.
A rear “e-Axle” architecture that integrates the electric motor, transmission, and axle into a single unit—reducing the number of components, improving performance, and lowering maintenance costs.
A platform specifically designed for electric operation. The battery placement was carefully planned to free up the chassis and provide an unobstructed surface, offering great flexibility for configurations tailored to customers’ specific needs.
