GLOBOCAM is moving towards electrification to meet the high demand from its customers for electrically powered trucks.
The company is on a mission to shape transportation with the new electrification solutions that are now available. With these new low-emission propulsion modes, truck fleet owners will be able to significantly reduce their fuel and maintenance costs.
GLOBOCAM is moving forward with the energy transition, whether it is with trucks powered by natural gas, electric batteries, or fuel cells (hydrogen).
GLOBOCAM is relying on electric trucks of the Freightliner brand with a range of about 350 km on batteries. Deliveries will begin in the summer of 2023.
Another model in the company’s portfolio, the Freightliner’s eM2 trucks are based on the best-selling medium-duty truck in North America built by Daimler. The Freightliner eM2 is a zero-emission electric truck with Detroit connectivity and advanced technology.
Ideal for local distribution, the eM2 electric transport truck lowers customers’ cost of ownership, just like its Class 8 counterpart, the eCascadia. The eM2 medium-duty trucks in a six-wheel configuration, designed to fit a 26-foot box will enter production in late 2023 for deliveries beginning in January 2024.
At GLOBOCAM, management has already ordered 40 electric trucks, 20 of which are being sold to customers.
Electric vehicles require charging stations. GLOBOCAM assists its customers from A to Z in the charging infrastructure using Detroit products.
To support and accelerate the energy transition, funding is available to GLOBOCAM’s clients through the Quebec government’s Eco-trucking Plan which can reach up to $175,000 per truck.
Similar funding is available through Transport Canada, which offers up to $150,000.
